For COLD water only (to filter hot water see the Everpure EVP-H4) The EVP-C4 type does not remove scale. So if that is an issue get an Everpure EVP-H4 instead of the EVP-C4 type to replace these ones. However, bear in mind that just because someone fitted these for you in the past does not necessarily mean you need them. They are more expensive than the EVP-C4 types so perhaps that is why they were supplied to you. If you are not in a hard water area and are only filtering cold water you probably don't need them.
