Renewing My Reverse Osmosis Membrane

You need to change your Reverse Omsosis membrane filter every two or three years..

You will know when to do this by the change in the taste of your filtered water.

The membrane's lifespan is affected by local water - in particular it can be reduced in hard water / lime scale areas. (But this itself can vary. It depends on local water chemistry).

In a low scale area a membrane might last for five years!

But changing every three years is recommended.

This is in order to avoid sudden bad taste appearing - the membrane can fail suddenly, anytime - then having to wait for a replacement membrane.

If you need to change the membrane for a different Reverse Omsosis machine - ie one that we didn't supply - the best thing to do is to remove it from its housing, take a photo of it with your mobile phone and email it to us.
