If you have a tight space make sure to allow some clearance room underneath the fitted unit for changing the filter.
You need a minimum of 5cm / 2 inches inches below the white bowl for it to drop down and slide away.
Fitting
You can get a plumber or handyman to install the unit - this should take about 1 hour. Or you can DIY if you know how to cut a copper pipe. Inlet / Outlet - One inch BSP Brass Female as standard.

Questions
Water storage tanks?
We have a water storage tank. We want to put the softener before the tank. Will the fact the softened water sits in the tank for a while have any effect?
Answer
If we had to give a time it would be days and weeks rather than hours but there are so many factors influencing this that is impossible to be specific without a full knowledge of the water chemistry.
But let's take a hypothetical "even if it did" position....even if it did, it would only affect the stored water and any in pipes etc down stream. Even if it did, and some scale formed - as soon as the water began to flow as normal again, the freshly treated water would mitigate any minimal scale build up that may theoretically occur by acting against it and clearing it out.
Sorry that we can't be more specific, but...for all practical purposes the answer is no.

The water filer is doing its job so far. We are in a horrible water area and it has kept the washing machine clear and less fur on the kettle. There has been no issues and this is our second filter. The filter doesn't clog up at all so it is great.
