Product Description

Water feed 40L / hour

The system feeds your header tank from which you draw your water.

An integral tank is available as an extra on request.

(Warning there isn't really such a thing as “on demand RO”. While you can have water trickling out of a pipe, the RO almost always needs to feed into a tank from which you can draw the water at a good steady flow).

Min incoming pressure required is 4 BAR (It doesn’t have an inbuilt pump. Watch out for a small pressure loss if using a softener - recommended in hard water areas read more. If so you’ll you need between 4 and 6 Bar).

Be careful of any RO that claims to produce 40L or more per hour at anything less than 4 Bar, (for example ones that says 2.5 BAR). They usually simply don’t work and you’ll be disappointed.

Full instructions are provided. A competent plumber should easily be able to fit this unit. Understanding the principle of how RO works ie setting level switches and understanding RO waste water etc is helpful but not essential.

The electrics are no more complex than wiring a central heating system.

Cartridge Changes

There are 3 pods on the unit. Two of them are for membranes, The other is for the pre-filter. A fourth, the carbon postfilter, is used to "polish the water" after it's left the unit.

The frequency of renewing the cartridges depends on the quality of the incoming water.

Typically the pre-filters are changed annually and membranes on good quality, mains water every 2 years. On bore hole water it could be annually.

You will know when to change the membrane from your TDS readings - the level depends on your preference and the RO's applidcation. It will also depend on the amount of water being used. For example you might be drawing 20 litres a day or 200 litres a day.from the unit. The more you use it the more frequently you'll need to change the filters

Conductivity

The RO membrane is rated at 22% efficiency

So if it's 100 coming in for example it will be 78
