How?
In-line water filters are usually easily inter-changeable. The one we supply is not the original Brita but a specially made generic replacement.
These Brita inline cartridges were originally used with the Brita Pegler (aka Frances Peglar) taps but phased out in January 2019.
Brita is a good brand but the thing to bear in mind is that these water filters are all basically the same.

How do I Change the Filter?
Simply remove the tubing going into and out of your Brita and fit them into our filter - using the easy push fit connections.

Yes it Will Fit
Our filters come with the right connections for the standard issue Brita tubing - 12mm inlet and 8 mm outlet connector.
We have sold many hundreds of these to former Brita customers without any problems.
Free Connection Adapters - If Required
The connections on your new filter should fit your Brita - they are exactly the same size.
In the unlikely event you have a different tube size, don't worry we can supply you with free connection adapters.

The inlet will accept the old Brita brass timer stem. But if you want to stop using that and have the 8mm tubing going directly into the housing inlet, simply let us know - before or after ordering - and we can supply both inlet and outlet ready to accept your existing black Brita 8mm tubes.

Please note the LED filter indicator light function might not work after retro-fitting our system. However this light is simply a timer - it's not an indicator of water quality. In any event we'll send you a free reminder when it's time to replace the cartridge.

The exact time will depend on your local water.
Please note that it's hard for us to be totally certain this filter will stop scale in your drinking water for the full 6 months. This is because there are thousands of local water treatment plants in the UK. Each has a unique water chemistry - which can change regularly. (And it’s hard to tell by exact area because even within the same postcode the water source can vary).
However, having said that, please rest assured that the cartridges do work well for the full 6 months for 95% plus of our customers.
However, even if you're in a particularly bad area the filter should last for 3 months plus.
What can make a big difference is the flow rate of water going through the filter. The slower the better.
To adjust the flow rate simply use the flow restrictor / shut off valve that we will send for free with your new kit (Usual price £6.97).

The Brita filter taps include an LED that shows green, yellow or red to show whether it’s time to change the filter. This is every 3 months, so for a 6 month or 12 month filter you can just reset it at the 3 month intervals, and just change every 2 or 4 red lights.
However, it requires a certain amount of back-pressure to push together the contacts to make the LED light. Your filters produce less back-pressure so it won’t normally light with yours fitted. However, you can just put one of these straight after the filter (see attached picture), then gradually close the valve until the LED lights. It makes little difference to the flow rate.
This is currently ebay item 321680352965, £5.99 including delivery, is made by John Guest and is rated as food grade.
This tip works for all Brita tap filters where the LED sensor/battery unit is a separate brass elbow-shaped unit. It will not work on the ones where it’s combined into the cartridge head, as you lose this part when fitting a UK Water Filters cartridge.
Change the battery in the sensor (it’s a standard CR2032) if it hasn’t been used for a while, as it’s probably gone flat.
I had previously tried a clip-over plastic clip that squeezes the tubing, designed for silicone tubing, but I found it worked only for about an hour – after that the tubing pushed back against it and widened back out again. - recommending to many friends - Review by Simona
